Multi-Hazard Urban Risk Analysis, Oakland
For Peter Bosselman's Research Methods in Environmental Design course, I worked with two other students to produce a report on mulit-hazard urban risks in Oakland. Below are some sample pages from the report, which can be viewed in its entirety here.
"For urban planners, landscape architects, and urban designers working in the Bay Area, we feel that attention must be turned towards mapping out the densely populated urban areas where a combination of geographic, geological, and structural conditions contribute to a higher cumulative risk for the area’s residents. The following report outlines a research design approach and preliminary application of the methodology to assess projected risk, and risk perception of multi-hazard risks in the area near International Boulevard, adjacent to Lake Merritt, Oakland."
